The Hive, Cultural Night
January 7 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Culture Night is an all-ages, family-centered gathering welcoming Indigenous families and community members, as well as non-Indigenous learners who want to listen, learn, and engage respectfully with Indigenous culture.
Winter has traditionally been a season for storytelling — a time to slow down, reflect, and remember what matters. This Culture Night is informed by community-based educational resources, including the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian’s Native Knowledge 360° and Crash Course.
The evening will include:
A short learning segment from Crash Course: Native American History (hosted by Che Jim)
Oral storytelling, including a traditional teaching story
A simple, hands-on activity inspired by winter counts, a pictorial way Plains tribes remembered important winters through story and images
Families will be invited to begin their own winter count by creating a simple visual record of a winter they remember — past or present — as a practice they can continue at home.
Dinner will be provided (pizza & sodas)
All ages welcome — from infants to elders
No RSVP needed — drop in and join us
Hosted by The Hive: The Indigenous Collective
