Transcribed letter to E.H. Sehon, Secretary Missionary Society Methodist Church South forwarding the invoices referenced in items 75, 77, and 80 from Thomas Johnson Superintendent dated Jul 16, 1856

Shawnee M.L. School
July 16th 1856

Bro Sehon

I forward to you our accounts for the three past quarters. I have examined the instrucrtions given by the comr of Ind Affrs. + made out the accounts according to those instructions as near as I could under the circumstances. Unfortunately for us our agent [William Gay] was killed a few days before the examination of our school, at which time we expected him to sign these accounts. I have waited up to the present time for another agent to be appointed but have heard of no appointment+ have concluded to send them on without the approval of an agent as I did when agent Lea was killed, hoping that the Department would pass them under the circumstances as they did then.

I am anxious to hear if you have been able to get our business of last year arranged at Washington. I am again in need of funds, you know some is due for last year+ nearly all for this please let me hear from you soon

Yours afftly
Thos Johnson
