To His Excellency Andrew Johnson
President of the United States
Dear Sir
We have just learned that a patent is about issuing to one Johnston for certain lands in Kansas. The authorities of the Meth. E. Church in the U. S. on last Friday asked for delay that they might present proof that said patent should not be issued.
We have to day called on the Secy Interior to urge a delay of only a few days. He declines.
We have no doubt you will agree with us that the claim of one man should pause a few days for the claim of a million
