Miracle on 53rd Street is Still Happening! There are still about 30 beautiful trees remaining and an abundance of fresh aromatic greenery. The trees and greenery are the freshest, fullest and most fragrant in town! You will find a great selection of greenery as well as a big sale! The truck that brought them to the Mission drove straight through from Oregon and delivered the Saturday night before Thanksgiving. Need a holiday gift? Consider greenery. Want to enhance your holiday décor? Come by to find the perfect wreath, table topper or garland.
The 11th Annual Mission Tree Sale that transforms the Mission into a forest of Christmas trees is still going on! The sale is the brainchild of Foundation Vice-Chair, Tom Dix, who traveled to growers throughout the country to determine who would cut the trees just before putting them on the truck bound for the Mission.
The sale began 2 days before Thanksgiving. Over 900 trees have found holiday homes and about 50 more are looking for their Christmas home. The trees that are left are as beautiful as the first trees that were sold. Come by the Mission today and pick your tree! There is a 30% OFF SALE on ALL Greenery!!
- 30% off all greenery – Wreaths, Dwarf Alberta Spruces with mini-battery operated lights (perfect as an accent on a table), wreaths that encircle candles (table center piece), bark baskets overflowing with greens and cones (centerpiece or side table), garland (15’ lengths)
- Buy 1 wreath or bark basket and get a second for FREE (same or lesser price
The Mission all-volunteer organized and staffed Tree & Greenery Sale is operating currently with reduced hours. See shawneeindianmission.org for hours. If you arrive and there is not a volunteer to help you, you are in luck! The Honor System sale allows you to pay for what you choose with cash or check. Simply select what you would like and put your payment in the mailbox on the bench. There is signage with pricing to guide you.
The Mission Tree & Greenery Sale benefits the Mission and 5 Boy Scout troops in the area. The sale is a wonderful community partnership! The financial proceeds are split 50/50. The Scouts are guided by their adult leaders and parents….many of the older scouts help train the younger members. It provides hands-on job and life skills experiences…meeting and greeting the public, providing service, setting up and stocking the tree sale as well as taking it all down. The Foundation is grateful for these fine young people, their leaders and their parents!
