Transcribed report on the activities of the Indian Manual Labor School Thomas Johnson, Superintendent Manual Labor School to Luke Lea, Commissioner of Indian Affairs dated Jun 30, 1852

.

Ind. M. L. School
June 30th 1852

Sir,

I have the honor to submit to you the accompanying documents as the Report of our School for the Quarter ending June 30th 1852.

The total number of scholars for this quarter has been eighty, as you will see by reference to our school lists. This number, though eight less than the past quarter, is still larger than usual for this season of the year, and you will also perceive that the number of Delaware children still increases. We have had from that tribe Twenty during the quarter, and the prospect is good for more the next session.

The health of the school continues good and the scholars have made reasonable progress in learning.

Accompanying this Report you will also receive my account of disbursements for this quarter, with vouchers.

I have the honor to be yours etc.
Thos Johnson Supt.

Hon Luke Lea
Com. Ind. Affrs.
