F.L. Ind. M.L. School
June 30th 1853
Sir, I have the honor herewith to submit to you my report of this school for the quarter ending June 30th 1853 Document no 1 [M234, roll 786 frame 861] will show the number, names etc.in the Female Department. No 2. [M234, roll 786, frame 857]
will give the like information concerning the male Department. In the Female Department there are 58, and in the male, 36 scholars, making an aggregate of 94 in the school during the quarter. With a very few exceptions the attendance at school has been quite regular; and the scholars mostly have made commendable advancement in their studies.
During the quarter we were hindered for a short time by an attack of the measles, which though it swept through all most the entire school, was very mild and in no case proved fatal. With this exception the school has been remarkably healthy. For which, with all other blessings, we desire to be thankful to our Divine Benefactor.
I have the honor to be yours etc.
Thos Johnson Supt.
