Note: This project was first executed by the Overland Park Historical Society through a grant from the Johnson County Trust Fund. The object-criteria was used to obtain articles regarding Overland Park from 1903-1941 containing words such as Shawnee, Mission, Strang and so forth. Being a member at OPHS, I obtained a disk copy and proceeded to extract articles that met the word criteria “Shawnee”. I found all years contained something “Shawnee” but not all years bore a “Shawnee Indian Mission” reference.
